Blackberry Q10 does not sell

BlackBerry Q10, launched on January 30, 2013 was supposed to save BlackBerry. However, according to operators and retailers, the phone simply does not sell.

Sales numbers down blackberry
BlackBerry Q10 is one of the extreme few smartphones on the market that carries a physical keyboard. When the phone was launched early this year, the CEO of BlackBerry, Thorsten Heins, was convinced that there was a demand for smartphones with physical keyboards. However, this demand has not in retrospective proven to be completely misjudged.

While BlackBerry has not yet published official sales numbers, operators and retailers have provided strong indications that the BlackBerry Q10 simply is not selling. Operators and retailers report on no interest from customers and most even report that they have had to return large quantities of unsold phones.

Another strong indicator is that the second-hand market for BlackBerry has been extremely quiet even following the release of BlackBerry Q10 and the BlackBerry Z10. Apparently, the customers who used to be loyal to BlackBerry has no interest in turning in their older BlackBerry phones for an upgrade, or see any value of selling their old BlackBerry phones. This is an indication that BlackBerry is losing its core customers.

The true absolute numbers will be published in the report that is due to be released September 27, but things certainly do not appear to be very good at the moment for this once so successful Canadian company.
